PPI Deadline

PPI Deadline

The deadline has been set. Don’t miss out!

Find out if you are owed thousands before the PPI deadline set for 29th of August 2019 by the Financial Conduct Authority (FCA).

In theory, Payment Protection Insurance (PPI) is a good idea. After all, everyone wants to make sure they can pay their bills if something unexpected happens.

But in practice millions of people just like you were swindled out of thousands, in some cases tens of thousands, of pounds by greedy deceitful banks and lenders.

Why was the deadline set?

The FCA set a deadline to urge people who were potentially mis-sold PPI to take action sooner rather than later. The deadline has given consumers a 2-year window to complain. There is a pot of millions of pounds set aside for people who wish to make a PPI claim.

If you do not claim by the 29th of August 2019, you will lose your right to get some money back.

The deadline has no effect on existing claims. It affects new claims and rejected ones that can now be re-submitted due to the Plevin Ruling.

What is Plevin?

With the introduction of the Plevin ruling, instead of asking you “Have you been mis-sold PPI?”, the FCA is now asking simply, “Have you had any PPI at all?” Even if you bought the PPI knowing what you were doing, you were probably mis-sold it.

Plevin has opened up a new door for millions of people who either didn’t think they’d been mis-sold PPI or who had claims rejected. Together with new PPI claims being logged, there is a great amount of people who have been added to the backlog of claimants. The banks predict a greater stampede of people claiming as the date draws near, therefore, you need to act quickly.
